This mushroom looks exactly like the emoji or something Mario would jump on for extra health. It is the Fly Agaric (Amanita muscaria) that is strictly a "look, don’t eat" situation. BTW, the white spots aren’t just for decoration. They are actually remnants of a protective veil that covered the mushroom when it was just a tiny, round button popping out of the soil. As the cap expanded like a balloon, the veil tore apart into these perfect little freckles. Me trying to keep it together when life starts piling up on me all at once. 🫠🍃 Then, as I get a little nerd-ier - as more water accumulates, the pattern undergoes temporal scaling. Individual droplets grow over time, and they constantly merge into larger ones. What I find most remarkable, however, is that even though the drops grow and change every second, the overall geometric configuration remains perfectly self-similar. If a picture at minute 5 and another at minute 30 and scale the images to account for volume change, the statistical distribution of the big, medium, and small drops looks completely identical. #HeavyIsTheLeaf #MoistureIsTheDeformityOfLife #MacroPhotography #WaterDroplets #LeafMeAlone
